DR. SAMI KHAN FOUNDER
At the heart of SKZ UK is the inspiring story of Dr. Sami Khan, a renowned radiologist whose compassion goes far beyond the walls of his profession. As the founder of SKZ’s UK chapter, Dr. Khan has harnessed his medical expertise and deep sense of responsibility to transform the lives of vulnerable children in Pakistan.
Driven by the belief that education is the most powerful tool for change, Dr. Khan launched SKZ UK with a mission to provide slum children with opportunities they would otherwise never have. His leadership has connected donors, sponsors, and communities in the UK with children who dream of a brighter future—one that only quality education and healthcare can provide.
DR. SADIA SAEED
Dr. Sadia Saeed is the Interim COO of SKZ Pakistan and an Advisory Board Member of SKZ UK, where she has played a key role in structuring and managing the SKZ Foundation’s team. With a PhD in Infectious and Tropical Diseases and experience as a Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), she has significantly impacted public health initiatives, such as the Health and Hygiene Project in Karachi’s slums and the Covid Awareness Project. Her expertise in operational efficiency and philanthropy has helped shape strategies, improve hygiene practices at SKZ Model Schools, and promote community well-being.

Mr. Afnan Shah Khan
General Secretary and Director of Operations and Management
Mr. Afnan Shah Khan brings over 34 years of strategic leadership experience. His tenure as Director of Administration and Operations at Emporium Mall, Nishat Group, underscores his excellence in operational management and team development.
Renowned for his visionary leadership, he has significantly contributed to establishing Emporium Mall as a leading retail destination in Pakistan. His operational insights and strategic acumen bolster SKZ Foundation’s efforts to empower and educate slum communities effectively.
Mr. Asrar ul Haq Sulemani
Director of Infrastructure and Development
Mr. Asrar ul Haq Sulemani brings over 30 years of experience as a financial analyst and educator. He teaches at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Oman and works with Muthanna Investment Co. As Director of Finance for Pakistani Schools in Oman, he implemented computerized accounting systems and managed infrastructure projects. His financial expertise supports the SKZ Foundation’s educational and development efforts. He plays a key role in promoting financial sustainability and community uplift. His strategic insights drive the foundation’s growth and impact.
Professor Dr. Salma Siddiqui
Vice -President and Director of Well-being and Community Uplift
Professor Dr. Salma Siddiqui is the Vice President and Director of Well-being at SKZ Foundation. A social scientist and clinical psychologist, she has held key roles, including Dean at NUST and founder of the Department of Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Salma has led impactful mental health projects, such as tele-counseling services and the Indigenous Depression Scale. Her expertise strengthens SKZ Foundation’s holistic approach to supporting slum children’s education and well-being.
Mr. Shafqat Mumtaz Rao
President and Director of Strategic Planning
Mr. Shafqat Mumtaz Rao is the President and Director of Strategic Planning at SKZ Foundation, with over 30 years of experience in research, education, and advocacy. He led the Biotechnology Department at Ayub Agriculture Research Institute and reformed training programs for scientists in Punjab. Mr. Rao also advocated for improved training and pay structures for scientists and provides pro bono legal support to underprivileged clients. His strategic vision drives SKZ Foundation's mission in community development and education.
Prof. Dr. Khawaja Khurshid Ahmad
Interim Co-Chairperson
Prof. Dr. Khawaja Khurshid Ahmad contributing over 30 years of experience as a radiologist and medical educator. He has held key academic roles, including Head of the Radiology Department at KE Medical University Lahore.
His leadership as President of the Radiological Society of Pakistan and his role at Rashid Latif Khan Medical College demonstrate his commitment to advancing healthcare education. His expertise aligns with SKZ Foundation’s mission to support underserved communities through education and healthcare.
Mr. Aman Bashir
Finance Secretary and Director of Finance
Mr. Aman Bashir serves as the Finance Secretary and Director of Finance at SKZ Foundation. With a robust background in financial analytics, investment management, and risk assessment, he ensures financial stability and transparency within the organization.
An alumnus of LUMS and a CFA Level I certified professional, Mr. Aman is known for his innovative financial strategies and governance. His leadership supports SKZ Foundation’s mission by enhancing financial accountability and enabling sustainable growth.
Mrs Bismah Rao
Interim Vice Chairperson
Mrs. Bismah Rao is the Interim Vice Chairperson of SKZ Foundation, specializing in child and Islamic psychology. She has collaborated with British schools to design curricula and develop national tests. Her volunteer work with Samaritans UK and support for children with learning difficulties in Pakistan highlights her commitment to mental health. Mrs. Bismah's efforts enhance the SKZ Foundation’s focus on children's learning and well-being.
